Mirror Lighting

One of the most important areas in any bathroom is the mirror. We spend a lot of time using the mirror to make sure we don’t miss any spots while shaving and to keep our makeup even. It helps us make sure we’re brushing all the way to the back, and it allows us to stop and appreciate just how good looking we are. In order for us to look great we need appropriate light. In addition to the traditional center of the room lighting, task lighting, in the form of sconces mounted on either side of the mirror or a bar of lights at the top of the mirror will give you the illumination that you need to see your face free of shadows.

Ambient Lighting

Ambient lighting will be very important if you like to spend a lot of time relaxing in the tub. The proper ambient lighting will allow you to see clearly enough to read and to get safely in and out of the bath but without giving you a headache. There a many ways to accomplish great ambient lighting in a bathroom, the easiest of which is the center of the room light. If you have a smaller powder room, you probably won’t need much more than this (though adding a dimmer is never a bad idea). But if you have a larger bathtub or a flower with a less-than-translucent door, you might want to have some lights installed above the tub itself. Always use professional electricians when you’re wiring things in the bathroom. Water and electricity aren’t a good combination.

As you can see, there are so many options to provide your bathroom with the lighting that you want that it can be a little overwhelming. If you need help, give us a call at Lincoln Lighting Center or stop by the showroom. We can help you find what you want that matches your style and your lighting needs.
